Briefing Media Agriculture is making some key personnel changes as the business continues to grow and prepares for further expansion.

After more than seven years as Farmers Guardian editor, Emma Penny is to step up to the position of group head of content, overseeing Farmers Guardian, Arable Farming, Dairy Farmer, and other current and future publications and initiatives.

Rory Brown, Briefing Media co-founder and chief marketing officer, added: “Emma has done a phenomenal job during her tenure as editor of Farmers Guardian and, as she steps up to her new group role, we are lucky to have such a strong team in place.”

The new editor of FG will be Ben Briggs, currently the title’s head of news, business and analysis.

From a farming background, Ben started his journalism career at FG in 2004 before going to work on a large regional daily paper and then editing a business magazine. He returned to FG in 2010 and has been responsible for developing news and business coverage during that time.

Deputy editor Vickie Robinson is being promoted to become Briefing Media Agriculture’s head of content solutions.

This new role will see Vickie take editorial responsibility for any projects with a sponsor or external client involvement, including the numerous industry media partnerships the business is involved in.

On becoming editor, Ben said: “I am incredibly proud to have been appointed editor of Farmers Guardian. It is a brand I am passionate about and there are exciting times ahead for the publication and wider Briefing Media Agriculture portfolio.”

Rory added: “Ben will be a fantastic editor for Farmers Guardian and Vickie takes on an important new role alongside our commercial projects.”

The changes will take place with immediate effect.
