John Eveson, Marcello Garbagnoli, winners of the photographic award and Joel Durkin.

Farmers Guardian saw three major successes at this year’s British Guild of Agricultural Journalists (BGAJ) annual Harvest Lunch and awards ceremony in London last week.

Business and data analyst Joel Durkin won Yara’s Environment Award for two pieces which were part of Farmers Guardian’s Business Insight series on volatility in farming.

Farmers Guardian photographer Marcello Garbagnoli was runner up in the BGAJ photography competition’s livestock category for a picture of Highland cattle in the Derbyshire hills. The photo was for a National Trust farm feature taken in March.

The category’s winner was freelancer John Eveson for a picture taken at a sheep dog sale in Hawes which appeared in Farmers Guardian as part of a Marts the Heart feature.
