Technical business analyst – temp 6 months, Tallage

Tallage is a French agricultural commodity market analysis company and member of the AgriBriefing group. Tallage’s provides the Stratégie grains website and publishes associated grains reports.

We are in the process of migrating away from our core system, FileMaker to a proprietary database created by our US team. Additionally we are restructuring our in-house technical team. As a result we’re looking for a technical BA to document elements of the core system to allow the development team to accurately rebuild it. Additionally capture the business processes around its management, including any key differences between the French and US teams who use the system. The work will be crucial to ensuring the migration and transition project is accurate, and informed decisions can be taken through a good understanding of systems and processes.

Tallage currently operates a hybrid working policy, and the role is to be based with access to the Moret-sur-Loing office.

Key responsibilities:
• Analyse the key inputs and outputs of FileMaker – this will include custom processes, APIs, and human intervention.
• Hold sessions with key business users and resources and document findings around how they use the system to do their jobs.
• Provide high quality documentation that captures your findings.
• Make recommendations on the project based on your work.

Required experience, skills and behaviours:
• Good understanding of common technical architecture, in particular the use of VBA, ODBC and APIs within complex solutions.
• Excellent documentation skills – written word, diagrams, charts. The ability to produce artefacts that will stand up to scrutiny if audited.
• Confident with data – although you won’t be personally analysing data, the subject matter is data.
• Comfortable talking to both technical and business people.
• Fluent in French and English

Beneficial additional experience:
• Experience with FileMaker software
